Ryan
performs lead vocals, harmonica, and percussion in the band.
He has been on stage since the age of four and has held various
positions in several bands over the years. He has performed
at venues ranging from backstreet, hole-in-the-wall local clubs
to the Morton Meyerson Concert Hall in Dallas, and he even performed
at Carnegie Hall in New York at the age of eighteen. His musical
influences vary widely, including blues, jazz, rock 'n' roll,
latin, funk, ska, reggae, punk, and metal, among others. A native
of Dallas, he is a founding member of Southern Comfort, along
with his brothers, Odin and Aron, and friend Caleb. He has played
with his brothers off and on over the years, and has been playing
with Caleb since 1994, when they worked together.
Despite
his best effort to talk without a drawl, Ryan is still a Southerner
and a bit of a redneck at heart. He enjoys drinkin', spittin',
fightin', shootin', fishin', ridin' Harleys, and many other
redneck activities, which he persues in his spare time.
