Danny
Stone has been playing electric bass since the age of 12, and
the
upright bass for the past 3 years. Currently a Jazz Studies
major at the
University of North Texas, Danny plays in the Lab bands and
various small
ensembles. He also keeps busy as a freelance bassist, playing
a variety of
gigs in the metroplex. From playing background music for a wet
T-shirt
contest at a biker rally to putting on a tux and playing big
band standards
at a wedding; from sitting in with various Denton blues bands
to donning a
wig and getting on stage with an 80's hair-metal tribute band,
Danny enjoys
playing a wide range of music.
Influences include John Paul Jones,
Chuck Rainey, James Jamerson, Keith
Jones, Ray Brown and Paul Chambers. Danny's hobbies include
reading,
building up a massive collection of British comedies, and buying
CDs.
